HCVS Families,
We begin the state’s testing window on Monday. While our students are much more than a test score, the testing results carry significant weight for all public schools. Schools are required to test at least 95% of their enrolled students, so please bring your student for their assigned tests. The tests are also weighted at 15% of a student’s final course grade. In high school, we cannot issue course credit if the EOC test is not taken. Also, the test grade usually improves the student’s grade instead of lowering it.
The in-person state testing window will be April 13 – May 1. These tests are required and have to be given in-person at Hillcrest Elementary (4302 Bonny Oaks Drive). All students will report to Hillcrest Elementary on their testing days at 8:30 am. We will provide snacks at breakfast and pizza for lunch. Testing will begin each day at 9:00 am. All students in grades 3-8 will test in ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies. High school students enrolled in Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, English I, English II, Biology and US History will also test. K-2 do not have any tests. High school students not enrolled in the seven courses above also do not test. All students in tested courses in grades 6-12 will need to bring their HCS issued chromebooks. Please charge the device the night before.
Students who receive extended time will be sent their testing schedule.
We will not have open labs during our testing window. We use every room we have at Hillcrest for testing. There will not be in-person labs from April 13th-May 8th. Open labs will resume the week of May 11th.

Upcoming Events
1.) Senior Practice/Graduation
Our Senior Graduation Practice is May 12th. Our Graduation will be on May 15th at 7:30 pm.
2.) Underclass Promotions
We will have our Promotion Ceremony for Kindergarten, 5th, and 8th Grades on May 19th. Participating students will need to be at Hillcrest at 8:30 am. These will begin at 9:00 am.
